The comic rhythm [Tim Key] shares with [Tom] Basden—a very precise iteration of entitled yet aggrieved—is wondrous, like a lo-fi Abbott and Costello.

It’s something almost as rare as a revelation: a crowdpleaser I’d recommend to everyone. And I have, from the grocery store clerks in Park City to my aunt to my metalhead pal — and now I’m tipping you off, too.

A genial, understated, warmhearted fish-out-of-water story...as charming and quirky as the short was, if a bit overextended.

The comedy manages to be at once an odd-couple bromance, a showcase for Key's uproarious woolgathering, a quite respectable musical event, a meditation on grief, and an achingly nostalgic look at the harmonies we carry with us through life.

Bereft of chuckles or even a substantial story, this maudlin musical fable never escapes the drag of a lead character with supporting-player energy.
