A trio of university parapsychologists lose their research grant and decide to open their own business, "Ghostbusters," and almost at once are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in a Central Park West apartment. Ghostbusters, for all its wonderful silliness, is an artifact that helps us understand its time, as well as ours.

[P]art of the movie’s success lies in the terrific casting of Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and particularly, Bill Murray in his hilariously deadpan best as Peter Venkman.

Ivan Reitman’s enjoyably silly (and occasionally genuinely scary) supernatural blockbuster about a team of amateurish ectoplasmic exorcists rescuing New York from a plague of ghouls was the most expensive comedy of its time.

A part of me was for this film because I had enjoyed the cartoon series so much. This movie on its own is just "ok".

This has a long legacy in cinema that is worth considering but I surprisingly didn't enjoy rewatching this. I found myself shrugging my shoulders a lot and being bothered by Winston's character arc or lack thereof.
